Sharon distracts Peter from his homework
Sharon wandered into the kitchen. When she spotted Peter at the counter, snacking while working on what looked to be homework, she decided that homework was too serious and he needed a distraction. She popped up on to a chair next to him.
"Hi, Peter. Exciting homework?"
Looking up, Peter smiled at Sharon, “Hey, Sharon. Oh, yeah, don’t you know it. Most exciting ever.” He moved the bowl of popcorn, and the small bowl of M&Ms, between them. “What’re you up to?”
"Bored," she said. She took a piece of popcorn and nibbled.
“So, you thought you’d come look at my homework?” Peter joked. He picked up a kernel too, grinning at Sharon as he popped it into his mouth. “Sorry to tell you that it will probably have the opposite effect.”
"Then you should do your homework later." She smiled. "Entertaining cats, more important. It's a fact."
Peter laughed, “Oh yeah? I hadn’t heard that one. But, if it’s a fact.” He closed his textbook.
"Why red and blue?" she asked, as if the question made complete sense.
It took Peter a minute to figure out what Sharon was talking about. “Oh, um,” he said. “Cause I like them, I guess? They’re not really symbolic or anything.”
"Spiders aren't blue. Very weird."
“I’m not really a spider.” Peter gestured at Sharon and added, “Also, cats aren’t purple.”
She poked him with her tail and grinned. "Observant! No wonder Kitty likes you."
Peter laughed at that, his cheeks coloring, “Yeah, I observed my way into her attention.”
"Cute," she said.
“Yeah, she is,” Peter agreed whether that was what Sharon meant or not.
She smiled approvingly. "Do you and Kitty fight?" she asked curiously.
That...was out of the blue and kinda concerning. “We haven’t, but lots of couples argue,” Peter replied. “Why?”
She hummed thoughtfully. "People that like each other. Often stupid. Even smart ones."
Peter blinked, “Like who?”
She gave him a look. "Everyone you were swinging around the city with the other week."
It took Peter a second to realize what Sharon was talking about, and who. “You mean Steve, and Tony? And Pietro?” He didn’t know if Clint, and Coulson were in any relationships, so he stopped there to let Sharon fill in any blanks.
She nodded. "Very smart and very stupid. Keep them anyway."
“That could be said about most people, myself included,” Peter replied with a bit of a smile. He shrugged, “But yeah, arguing is normal. I mean, there’s definitely a line that shouldn’t be crossed obviously.”
She hummed thoughtfully. "Well, good that you and Kitty are less ridiculous." Changing the course of the conversation she went on to say, "You should visit the city more."
“You mean Tony’s place?” Peter asked. He was in the city all the time, he just didn’t visit the brownstone all that often.
"Yes." She grinned. "You could join the people who like to hang out on the ceiling I bet."
Peter’s feet swung as he munched on popcorn. “You have a lot of those?” he asked, amusement warm in his voice.
"Yep. Bunch of us. Either have to climb up there or jump at Arthur when he's distracted."
Peter laughed. “Never a dull day at Stark’s place, huh?”
"Never!" she agreed.
“I’ll try to come by more often,” Peter promised, then grabbed a handful of popcorn and popped a few kernels into his mouth.
"Good," she said soundly. "Always fun with more people."
Peter grinned. “So people keep telling me.”
"It will be good. Do most of my normal people socializing with Kitty and Yana. You add wall crawling to the possibilities!"
“I’m starting to think you only want me for my wall-crawling,” Peter joked, the laughter bright in his eyes belied an otherwise serious expression.
"Will be lots of fun," Sharon pointed out. She leaned and nudged his shoulder. "You'll see."
