During the Christmas vacation, Sharon and Tony have a cuddle party. Steve eventually crashes.
Steve might not be vigilantly sticking to his dawn runs while on vacation, but Sharon still heard him get up that morning. She wandered into the living room, bundled up in the Soft Kitty bathrobe that Tony had given her for Christmas. She gave Steve a sleepy wave, but clearly wasn't in any rush to join him for his run. With Steve gone she wouldn't be interrupting anything so she brushed past Steve, nuzzling his shoulder briefly, and then wandered into the master bedroom where she climbed on to the bed and shifted down into her cat form. She climbed on Tony and sprawled across his chest, starting to purr loudly.
Tony, still half asleep considering he'd begun drifting back off after Steve had gotten up, groaned a little at the sudden weight that dropped onto him and batted uselessly at it. "Too early," he grunted, trying to do his best to bury his head under the pillows.
She of course butted her face up against his neck and nuzzled while continuing to purr.
He grumbled as he was suddenly inundated by fur. "Go bother Steve," Tony said roughly, refusing to open his eyes.
She gave him one more affectionate nuzzle before crawling off of him. Her weight disappeared for a moment, but it was only long enough for Sharon to turn back into a girl and climb back into her robe. She tangled against Tony like that, arm thrown across his chest, leg over his body, face buried against his neck. "Steve's running," she protested.
Even if he'd thought about slipping back into sleep, the weight dropping against him again made that pretty much impossible. Tony grumbled something unpleasant sounding again, but it was mostly for show considering he blindly threw an arm around her. "Of course he is."
She tugged at the end of the blanket on the other side of her, wrapping it over herself without disrobing Tony. "You can sleep," she said after she'd made herself comfortable.
"That's what I was trying to do," Tony muttered with a snort that had no real heat in it. "Using me for a pillow?"
"Yes," she said succinctly. She shut her eyes, and while it was something she was just starting to learn, she shifted only an increment--just enough that she could purr softly against him.
Well, if she was going to be that way about it. Tony supposed he should have been thankful she'd at least waited for the morning to come make herself comfortable. With a soft exhale, he used the arm he had thrown around her to shift them both until he was in a position he could fall back asleep in. Maybe.
Tony clearly needed to appreciate the therapeutic powers of a purring cat. Sharon dosed off lightly also, warm and happy.
Sometime later after his run, Steve came back through the room with a coffee mug and a thermos in hand, and stopped short as soon as he saw the mess of limbs in the bed. He'd known Sharon had been coming in to cuddle Tony, but the sight of it was so cute, it felt like something in his chest was melting.
Quietly, he set the thermos (the container chosen so that it would be still warm at whatever time Tony managed to be awake enough for it) down on the nightstand, then took his tablet, scrolling out of his news app to bring up the camera and take a shot. Then he was setting his things aside and showering quickly, no more than three minutes before he was back in a fresh tee and sweats.
He crawled into bed with the pair, carefully wrapping his arms around them both and pulling them in just a little, just enough that he could scoop both of them in against his chest.
Sharon cuddled back against Steve, low purr starting up again. Her tail poked out from the fringe of the blanket and wrapped around Steve's calf.
Tony groaned as he was unceremoniously hauled across the bed, never mind that he was already twisting in closer to Steve's body. "Aren't you supposed to be out bench pressing tanks or something?"
Steve smiled as they both moved in against him, kissing the top of Sharon's head before leaning down to kiss Tony's forehead. "Already finished," he murmured, and he moved to wrap an arm around his shoulders before adding, "Sorry to wake you up." Even if he didn't sound very sorry.
Sharon nuzzled against both of them until she found the position of maximum comfort.
"No you're not," Tony said, trying and mostly failing to continue sounding cranky. "And you're the one who keeps telling me I don't sleep enough."
"So go back to sleep," Steve mumbled before kissing him again, his other hand scratching between Sharon's shoulders. He got himself comfy, watching Tony with soft smile. "Don't let me stop you."
"Complain too much," Sharon murmured. "Not true ever."
"Says you," Tony mumbled, halfway back to being asleep anyway. "Complain if I feel like it."
"No one expects any less from you," Steve said softly, and he gently raked his fingers back and forth through Tony's hair in a pattern he hoped would be soothing, his other hand gesturing the 'shh' motion to Sharon before he started petting her back again, too.
Sharon snickered softly and continued to purr soft and quiet.
