The night of the almost-shooting, JM leaves Roberto and seeks out Blaine and Kurt. They are basically the sweetest ever and take good, good care of her. Cuddle pile sleeping follows.

As Jeanne-Marie walked up stairs and into her own hall, she clutched at the St. Christopher's medal Bobby had given her, chewing on the inside of her cheek a little harder than she had been, before. She felt strangely... empty now. She'd thought she was all right, when she'd left Jean-Paul...

She couldn't find him now. He would be with Simon, and they would need each other. She should just go to bed... maybe take something to help her sleep.

Her gaze fell on Kurt and Blaine's door, though. And it wasn't too late. Maybe just stopping in to say she was home, since she'd texted them (well, Kurt, but it amounted to the same thing) earlier, after the mess. She bit down a little harder and knocked anyhow, before she could tell herself not to.

Blaine glanced up from his notes, eyebrows raised and checking his watch when he heard the knock on the door. It was unusual for anyone to be coming by this late. ""Do you mind getting that, babe?" He asked Kurt, gesturing to the pile of papers in his lap.

“Sure,” Kurt answered, closing the book he’d been reading and teleporting from the bed over to the door. He opened it and was surprised to see Jeanne-Marie on the other side. Giving her a smile, he stepped aside to make room for her, “Jeanne-Marie! Bitte, come in. How are you doing? How is Jean-Paul?”

"A little unnerved--more than he will admit, of course--but he managed everything beautifully. And in truth so did I." But her smile was a little weak as she entered and reached out for his hand. "I just wanted to tell you myself."

Kurt, after all, had an even closer brush with a gun--one that had contributed to Bobby's reaction, as well, and, well, she just didn't want him to worry.

Blaine peered over his reading glasses at her, at that weak smile, and noticed that she had side stepped the question of how she was doing, and had only answered for Jean-Paul. "And how're you doing, Jeanne-Marie?" he asked, echoing Kurt's question with a welcoming smile as he started packing up his papers and textbook, dropping the whole lot on the bedside table.

Kurt took Jeanne-Marie’s hand and have it a squeeze. Her weak smile hadn’t gone unnoticed by him either. Guiding her further into the room, he tacked on at the end of Blaine’s question, “Would you like something to drink?”

"I am fine thank you," she replied as she allowed herself to be led gladly. She felt a little bit bad, intruding, but then not really--they were her dearest friends and they would never mind a visit. Her head was just a little clouded as she attempted to switch gears from damage control into, well, assessment. She glanced to Blaine, "I mean, not fine, if I am honest, but not thirsty anyhow.

"It was a scary moment, but I am very proud of how both of us reacted to it. Just, it was my first run-in with that sort of thing--at least, from a mutant-hating perspective."

"You should be. Proud, I mean. From what I've heard, the situation was basically over before it started." Blaine pat the edge of his bed and gave her a smile. "Do you want to sit? And..yeah, it's scary. We all sort of know that something could happen any time, that there are huge groups of people that hate us, but it's different when it actually happens to you. It becomes more real."

Kurt nodded in agreement with Blaine. “It shakes you,” he agreed. “In a way nothing else really does.” He sat beside Jeanne-Marie so she was sandwiched between himself and Blaine, leaving his hand in hers. “And in case no one has told you yet, that is okay. It is okay for you to be not fine.” There had been a time after he’d escaped from Jardine’s where he’d needed to hear that, and he hadn’t had anyone to say it to him.

A smile, “And Blaine is right, you should be proud. We’re proud of you too.”

She slumped against Blaine, suddenly boneless, but found it in her to squeeze Kurt's hand. "Oh, you two--I should've known you'd have the right thing to say.

"I am fine. I was. I don't know, honestly. I just feel so strangely exhausted."

"It's probably the adrenaline," Blaine suggested, letting her tuck herself into his side, and resting a hand to rub soothing circles into her back. "Do you want to talk about it?"

Kurt’s thumb ran back and forth over the back of Jeanne-Marie’s hand. “We are here if you do,” he added with a small, reassuring smile. “For as long as you need.”

"No, actually," she said, a little bit amazed. "You've both said precisely what I need to hear. Thank you. So much." But she was still leaning heavily against Blaine and clutching at Kurt's hand. Smiling slightly now, though.

Blaine smoothed her hair back behind the ear not against his shoulder, giving her a small smile. "Happy we could help." He glanced over to Kurt, wondering whether or not to ask something, but finally decided he wouldn't mind. "Do you have someone to stay with tonight?"

She bit gently at the inside of her cheek, suddenly embarrassed for Bobby. That couldn't be a good sign, but she was too tired to think of why or how. She shook her head, remaining silent instead.

Kurt caught on quickly to what Blaine was saying and smiled gratefully over Jeanne-Marie’s head at him. “You are welcome to stay with us,” he replied after her response, holding onto her hand and leaning in comfortingly against her.

Part of her wanted to say no, thank you, she was fine.

But she'd used all that up right then, and she knew both Kurt and Blaine too well to think they'd offer if they truly minded. She sighed in relief. "I think that would be nice. Thank you so much. I feel so silly, but." She shrugged and smiled. "I don't mind so much, in front of you two."

"Good." Blaine leaned over to kiss the side of her hair, giving her a small squeeze. "You have nothing to feel silly about. Do you want to change? If you don't want to go back to your room, I'm sure I have some shirts and drawstring shorts that you could wear."

“Me too,” Kurt supplied, then added with a smile, “And I can get us drinks and snacks from the kitchen, and we can settle in to watch a movie?”

Jeanne-Marie's eyes were misting over, but she was smiling so brightly. "Thank you, yes. To all of it." She gave each of them a quick kiss on the cheek, overcome with gratefulness and relief. Already feeling so, so much better.
