Lu and the Jamies meet over a game of frisbee

"You're throwing too high!"

"Well, run for it!"

Lu laughed as she caught the frisbee, tossed it back, and spared a glance towards the school's front door. She'd made plans to meet Jamie out on the lawn, where they wouldn't have to worry about things getting crowded (not that she was really concerned about it, but as a joke it had been fun). He hadn't shown up yet, though - not a problem, since she'd gotten there early - and she'd decided to start without him.

Unfortunately, "orange" had been right, and the next frisbee flew over her head. "You did that on purpose!" she called out, then turned to see where it had gone.

'Where it had gone' was straight at a Jamie who'd just been coming out of the school. To be fair, he reacted quick and dove forward to grab said frisbee before it hit him in the face. Diving suddenly sent him completely off balance though and he faceplanted clumsily, resulting in several more groaning Jamies each holding a frisbee.

"Owwwww." Seemed to be the general chorus line with a few cusses thrown in the mix.

"I'm sorry!" Luornu shouted, and two of her ran towards the newcomer (who had to be Jamie, considering there were now several of him), while the other let out a cheer and shouted, "Point goes to me!"

"Are you okay?" 'Orange' asked as she crouched down beside one of him.

"How come you're only asking him?" One of the other Jamie's playfully grumbled.

"I'm, we're fine," The Jamie that had been addressed assured the girl above him.

"Yeah, we get way worse in training!"

"Hell, we get way worse from each other!"

"I'm sorry?" Orange said, feeling awkward. "I didn't mean it that way..."

"He's teasing," Neutral assured her as he held out a hand to help the grumbling Jamie to his feet, then gave the others an apologetic look. "Sorry, there's not enough of me to go around. How many of you are there, anyway?" She'd gotten the impression from Noriko that there were more of Jamie than there were of her, but there had to be an upper limit, didn't there? Otherwise the internal chaos would be insane.

"And what kind of training are you talking about?" Purple asked with interest as she wandered over. "Just the squad stuff, or are any of you into it?"

The nearest Jamie answered each question and though they didn't exactly talk over one another for once, they still overlapped a fair amount.

"We all do squad training then different dupes do other kinds. Gymnastics, dance, fitness, weights training. You name it really."

"Uhhhh no idea? Like lots, loads of us. When we want. Haven't found a number limit yet. Every bump, another Jamie!"

"D..doesn't that get awfully confusing?" Orange asked, pulling back with a slightly horrified look. Neutral couldn't say that she blamed her, either. Things occasionally got confusing with just three of them - she couldn't imagine the chaos of dozens.

"And how hard of a bump are you talking?" Purple added, then threw out her hands innocently and demanded, "What?" as the other two turned towards her with warning looks. "I was just curious!"

In response to that, one Jamie grinned "Hey, the more the merrier, right? OW!" because another Jamie had smacked him round the head for the insinuation, resulting in yet another dupe appearing.

"Would you guys just stop with that crap?" The original Jamie rolled his eyes before telling the girls. "Confusing sometimes but we all join up in the end so it's cool."

"Isn't it an awful lot to integrate, though?" Neutral asked, then shrugged and took a seat on the grass, gesturing for the other two of her to do the same. She was more interested in talking than frisbee, anyway. "I mean, we fight it out sometimes with just the three of us. I can't even imagine more." Though at times like this, she reflected as Purple took a seat a little closer than necessary to the Jamie who'd been making the comments about "the more, the merrier" and began giving him appraising looks, she could imagine one less.

The Jamie getting checked out was thriving off of the attention though, thankfully, not actually preening of anything.

"It's not so bad," One of the Jamies told her with a shrug.

"Some things do get a bit forgotten or scrambled though." Another added with a shrug.

"But we're always been this way," A third summed up "Would be weirder not to be like it.

"We're Jamie by the way," The one with Purple added, "You guys are Lu, right?"

"Definitely Lu," Purple assured him.

"You've always been able to split, then?" Neutral asked curiously, leaning back on her arms and stretching her legs out in front of her.

"W..we couldn't," Orange admitted, biting her lip at little at the memory. "It's better since we can, though."

"Born this way, baby!" One Jamie confirmed with a laugh.

"Gave the doctors a fright." Another nodding seriously though he was fighting a smile.

"I bet," Neutral replied with a grin, while Orange covered her mouth and tried not to laugh. "Did they at least catch both of you?"

"Assume so!"

"Though," The Jamie next to Purple said thoughtfully "If we got dropped on our head at birth, it'd probably explain a few things."

"Mmm, it just might," Purple agreed, grinning at him. "Guess the big question is which of you got dropped?"

"At this point all of us, absorbing absorbs everything."

"Hold it," Neutral asked, holding up a hand and frowning. "So, you're all just...the same? Really?"

"Because we're not," Orange offered tentatively.

"Thank god," Purple muttered to the nearest Jamie, leaning in a little.

"We're not all the same all the time, sometimes it's aspects or traits. Being apart makes us different too but everything merges when we join up again." One Jamie explained, pointedly ignoring what his identical was doing with Purple. Namely shifting closer and apparently whispering.

"And it's not the same dupes every time," Which Jamie was guessing wasn't the case for the girls.

"So it's random joining and dividing, I guess. Makes us hard to mindread at least though which is good."

"Is there a real problem with that? Mindreading, I mean?" Orange asked apprehensively.

"Mix and match could be cool, though," Purple Lu observed, grinning at the Jamie who'd shifted closer. "If you don't like what you get, can you just reabsorb and split again?"

"Be nice," Neutral warned her, then shrugged and looked back at the Jamies. "I've got the same thing with merging - well, sort of. None of us are every really totally not there. But we sort of combine all the memories." She smiled crookedly and shrugged. "Mostly. I think some get held here and there, but sooner or later it all sorts itself out."

Latching onto the 'none of us are not there' thing, on of the Jamie's asked tentatively "Your thoughts get argue-y? Like there three people trying to control the same Sim?"

"Oh, not that bad," Orange jumped in quickly. "It's gotten a lot better."

"Used to be worse," Purple conceded, making a face at her before stretching out on the grass and pillowing her head on Jamie's leg. "Now instead of fighting it out we just split."

Neutral rolled her eyes at them both, then turned back to the assembled Jamies. "It's really hard to explain," she admitted calmly. "We're all there, but we're mostly just...together? Unless we hit a real conflict. But we're not fighting for control."

"Mostly," Orange corrected.

"Sometimes it happens after, like, a mass absorption or whatever but not often." A Jamie admitted, kind of enjoying chatting about it with someone who might understand even a little bit.

"What do you do when it does?" Neutral asked.

"Lie down til it goes away?" Jamie joked back

"Nah, really though. I don't happen too much." A different Jamie said, tearing his attention away from Purple for the moment.

"It's only link feedback that's really annoying."

"Link feedback?" all three Lu's asked with varying degrees of curiosity.

"Empathic link between all of us." Another Jamie explained "It comes and goes, no real control but it's extremes. One of us is injured? We all get a little feedback. Scared, happy, all that. Link gets weird when we drink too."

"We have that happen," Neutral admitted, and Orange glared over at Purple, who was looking more than a little smug. "Like you say, the extremes always stand out, don't they?" She smiled a little. "Haven't really noticed any affect from alcohol, though if we synch up when one of us has been drinking it's kind of a head rush.

"Yeah that's what I meant, like the valentine's rave was crazy. So many of us drinking and trying shit, it was crazy."

"Might've been the sex too." Purple's Jamie supply as if being helpful though he was grinning wickedly.

"Why do you always gotta act up in front of new people, huh?" The Jamie nearest to him frowned.

"What? I'm just saying."

"Some of us didn't even know about that for months so I doubt it caused much affect on the link." A third Jamie rolled his eyes at them and turn to the other two Lu's "Sorry for those idiots I, well, I have no words for them some days."

Orange facepalmed and Neutral stifled a laugh, then shook her head. "Don't worry, we know the feeling. Though I'm not sure how you can not know about something like that for two months."

"Unless it was pretty...unexciting," Purple pointed out, looking up at the Jamie whose leg she was using at a pillow with a smirk. "Not something I'd admit to, myself, but hey. Takes all kinds."

Looking back down at her, he protested "Hey now, don't go judging me because a few others were too drunk to work out what they were feeling meant. Besides the link is really occasional anyway."

"Don't," Neutral ordered Purple just as the latter opened her mouth.

Purple waved her protests aside, but settled for patting his leg. "That's okay. Keep practicing. You'll get it. What do you do for fun around here, anyway?"

One Jamie looked around at the others, jerking a thumb at Purple and her pillow Jamie "Anyone know if those two came with, like, an off switch? Or a mute?"

Neutral and Orange Lu's eyebrows show up in unison, and they fixed the Jamie in question with a not-impressed look. "Not so much," Neutral observed. Because honestly, they could complain about Purple. Jamie, not so much, especially when one of him was being worse than she was.

The offending dupe's hands rose immediately in surrender "Was only playing, I swear!"

"Mmmhmmm," Neutral said doubtfully, but then smiled. "Anyway, it's a valid question. What is there to do around here for fun? Other than anything you may or may not pick up through your link?"

Jamie started thoughtfully. "Well, lots of sports going on."

"Salem's fun, or New York's not that far away either!"

"Some of the school clubs are alright, the parties are awesome." Purple's Jamie added

"And then there's the rich kids. One of them rented a place in the freaking Hamptons for us all for a weekend, it was insane." Of course, Jamie was very biased on Cersei for the moment.

"Really? The whole weekend?" It almost had to be Cersei, Lu reasoned based on responses to her intro post. Well, no - she supposed it could've been Sirius, but the Hamptons didn't seem like his style, unless he was thumbing his nose at his parents. Roberto, she was almost positive, wouldn't have done anything quite so outrageous, and Cindy'd only just arrived. Not, admittedly, that there might not be other "rich kids" around, but still. She might not know her well, but she knew Cersei. It seemed like something she'd do.

Not that she wanted to go there, so instead of following up on that, she instead asked, "What kind of clubs?"

"There's mostly sports so far."

"Victor was taking about a musical theatre thing though." Purple's Jamie pitched in helpfully.

"Oh really? That's cool. But yeah, right now mostly sports and shit but if you got the interest the teachers seem pretty happy to let you form pretty much any club."

"Gaming." A third Jamie added, picking absently at the grass as he did.

"I already said sports, listen would you?"

"No, not that I meant gaming like D&D and shit, that ones really popular."

"Huh, learn something new everyday."

"Two new things. Victor and gaming." Purple's Jamie corrected

"Right."

"Baseball?" Neutral Lu asked hopefully.

A few Jamie's nodded and one confirmed "Cal's your man for basketball!"

"Surprised he hasn't already asked, it's always his first question actually."

"He had other things on his mind," Purple smirked, but Neutral shook her head and quickly corrected, "Baseball. You know, with a bat and ball and people wearing gloves? Anyone?"

"Oh really, what kind of things were those?" Purple's Jamie smirked down at her.

"Yup, baseball sounds good right about now!" Another Jamie decided, pulling himself up. "And a hearing test for these two." He motioned to the Jamies who'd gotten on the basketball tangent.

"Few more shoves and we should have a team's worth."

Purple grinned enigmatically and sat up. "My powers," she retorted cryptically, then looked over at Neutral. "Baseball wouldn't suck," she admitted.

"I'm okay with it," Orange offered as she got to her feet. "Dibs on short stop?"

"Make a few extra to fill in ours?" Neutral asked hopefully as she got up as well, then smiled. She might not be quite sure how Jamie managed to keep track of that many of him, but she had to admit - when it came to baseball? It definitely had to come in handy.
