Betsy and Warren sneak off for some alone time during their vacation at the Braddock Manor.

They'd made it through another day of festivities and familial bonding, and Warren and Betsy soon found themselves winding down in front of one of the fireplaces. Though it and the fur rug beneath them provided him some warmth, Warren was content to be near Betsy, too. Barring, of course, privacy remained theirs.

If only because Warren liked to uphold his positive, charming image with mother and father Braddock. "The fire warm enough for you, love?"

Betsy smiled and trailed her fingers through the down of Warren's wings. Having her body cushioned against him and the lush rug was a decadent experience, and the only thing that could make this better would be if they had less clothes between the two of them. Warren was on very good behavior, though, and while Betsy was keeping a low level hum of telepathy going to notice anyone walking down the hall, she wasn't always that amazing at multitasking.

"The fire is perfect," she said. Her eyes trailed along Warren. "I should see about converting my accommodations at the mansion. I could get very used to seeing you like this."

"Mmm, it is much more appealing than what we're currently making do with, isn't it?" At least Betsy's new accommodations were much better than the dorm rooms (which Warren would really like to get out of some day soon), that room still couldn't hold a candle to this. Of course, many places could not compare to Braddock Manor which was why it was important to enjoy it.

"Could you imagine having a private fire place for ourselves?" Fantastic.

Betsy's expression shifted minutely, a fleeting thought, before she said, "I can imagine a few things that would be very nice to have for ourselves."

A home, with a private fire, private everything could be really amazing. It would also be a  leap, and Betsy should probably not stray down those thoughts. Warren just looked good like this, perfectly fitting into her home. Part of what she considered home.

"I can also imagine the things I'd love to do with you in front of said fire," she added lightly.

"There is something grossly romantic about the heat of actual flame, isn't there?" Warren replied with a devious smile, but also kept his own tone light. Maybe even shifted more in her direction.

"As long as you keep those wings close, yes." She leaned down and stole a light kiss. "Most moments with you are unexpectedly romantic. Honestly, I don't know how you can make the opportunity to eat lunch together romantic, but it just happens."

"Hey, I like a certain kind of mood in the atmosphere, what can I say?" Warren playfully stole a kiss right back, but it came with one of those wings sliding around and along the curves of her back. "Hopeless romantic until the day I die."

"You may have converted me." Betsy sighed softly and brushed her lips along Warren's jaw. "If I begin reciting poetry, please find some way to muffle me. I don't know if my dignity can handle it."

"I don't know if I could. Strange as it may seem, I also think it could be oddly arousing." Okay that time he couldn't help the joke, and Warren had a small laugh at it and also at her expense. The idea of it was funny, sorry, but sweet all the same. Humorous in a good way, though, of course.

"Though we could always go old school and do love letters instead. I hear they make for good keepsakes." He winked.

"You're terrible," Betsy told him, nudging him and then nipping over his pulse. "Wait until Christmas eve if you're looking for keepsakes."

"I am looking for them! Mmmmm, but teeth are just as good, though. Right now." Grinning playfully now, Warren turned his head to brush his own lips against the top of Betsy's cheek. Softly, but appreciatively. It did also prompt him to pull her closer. "I hate waiting, though. Worst patience ever."

"How about this... if you guess what I have wrapped up for you, I'll tell you if you're correct. Or I could simply help distract you." She smiled. Her patience was much, much stronger. She could stand to tease.

"I'm terrible at guessing games and you are far too creative to make it obvious for me." That was definitely a compliment to her and a shot on himself, by the by. Warren tipped up her chin with his hand so they were looking at one another more directly. "I could stand for some distraction, however."

Betsy 'hmm'ed softly. She snuck a quick glance toward the door. "No one is too close. We should have a moment." She stole a kiss. "Be good, and don't be too loud." She punctuated this by pressing Warren flat on his back and kissing down the side of his throat.

With the affirmation that they were most certainly alone for the time being, Warren submitted to Betsy's lips so she could have her way. It really was the best type of distraction away and being on his best behavior in front of her parents had been some work! It wouldn't kill for some fun right about now.
