The couple people watch during Shinobi's party.
The range of people was an interesting one, but when combined with the effects of their chosen outfits for the evening it was yet more fascinating. So far while they'd been at the club, Jeanne-Marie had busied herself with dancing with Roberto--of course! But now they were settled with some champagne watching the others, Jeanne-Marie was getting a really good look at the outfits and personalities in a completely different way from the one she'd had at dinner.
Her gaze lingered longer on Lil than on most others--but that was only natural. The way she danced with Brian, it told her very well that something more really was happening between them, and she hoped it was so. "Don't you love Lil's dress?" she asked into his ear. Jeanne-Marie had gone a little more casual herself, with a skirt, sequined tank, leather jacket, and ankle boots combo that was both comfortable and flirty party/club wear. And there were plenty of others even more underdressed than her--or as upscale-dressed as Lil.
With a small smirk, Roberto looked over her before nodding thoughtfully "She does look beautiful." And he knew why Jeanne-Marie noticed her more than the other girls of course, but he wasn't threatened. Certainly not when Lil had been making her interests in Brian very clear all night.
"I think you look even prettier though." Because there was no girl prettier than Jeanne-Marie, Bobby would happily fight anyone one over this fact. For now though he was happier to simply sip champagne with her, cuddling up close. He had intended to avoid alcohol considering his medication, a quite frankly foolish idea considering this was Shinobi Shaw's birthday and alcohol was utterly unavoidable. Still, a little wouldn't do too much harm.
"Mmm, thank you, mon cher." Jeanne-Marie pecked his cheek before returning to her people watching and sipping. "I think Alice looks good too--I like that leather dress. And Eames is very cute--I wonder how she's so good in those shoes when she's a boy most of the time."
"Curtis says it's practice and, yes, I have had conversations with him. A few actually, mostly when we're handing Vance over from one training regime to the next much like painfully civil divorcees with their child but there you are." He still didn't quite understand the other boy's original problem with him. So he'd checked him out in girl form, wasn't like he was the only one to do so. His glass had emptied far too quickly for his liking, clearly it hadn't been filled correctly.
Jeanne-Marie just shot him a look for the comment about Curtis. She had no interest in enlightening Bobby in re the reasons he might rub people the wrong way--not tonight, anyhow. She went back to checking out the crowd and sipping. "Tony looks good, but I think he must always look good. And Damon." She made a little bit of a sour face--she had still not completely forgiven him for just leaving without telling her, though she supposed she owed him now and ought to.
Bobby chose to ignore the Damon comment, just as he'd been choosing to ignore the existence of the person all evening. "Stark, I suspect, is richer than me. Or just even more careless with money than I and so, yes, he always looks good. Not that money guarantees taste, of course."
"Or that a lack of it guarantees a lack of taste." Her gaze fell on Pietro Maximoff and Remy Le Beau and she smiled. Though she didn't especially like Pietro, mainly on her brother's behalf, she didn't dislike him either. And she did like seeing Remy happy.
And just seeing Remy in general. Especially in that ripped shirt. "They are cute together, no?" She only hoped Pietro wouldn't disappoint Remy. It would annoy her, to say the least.
"Cute? Yes I suppose they are. Pietro is certainly smitten. Enough to have taken leave of his senses just a little. More than a little." Ok, so maybe his ego was a little dented still from being called the fourth most attractive. Roberto da Costa wasn't the fourth anything."They seem happy yes, I did not realise Lebeau went that way to be honest with you."
"I didn't either," Jeanne-Marie admitted, "but I am not surprised. Sometimes it just takes the right person to make you realize. If Pietro is that for him, well, I like it even more."
She finished her drink and glanced at Bobby, noting his expression with curiosity. She knew he and Pietro didn't always get along, but she thought things had been peaceful between them lately, at least. "Why do you say he's taken leave of his senses?"
Bobby sat up to refill their glasses before telling her. "As I said he is infatuated and so saying I was second most attractive to Remy would be understandable but fourth? Fourth is laughable. Either he has taken leave of his senses or is trying to wind me up again." He wasn't actually cross or angry just a little wounded and very indignant.
Though she knew his pride would only take so much, Jeanne-Marie couldn't stifle a small laugh as she accepted the refilled flute. She glanced at Remy again over the top of it and shook her head. He was very pretty--and a good kisser, too, which of course she would not share with Bobby while he was in this state of indignation. But she couldn't resist winding him up just a little more, either. "Who on earth does he thing numbers two and three are, I wonder?"
"I did not ask, that would have been adding insult to injury would it not?" He sniffed a little "You do not agree with him, do you querida?"
"No, of course not." She gave in, laughed, and kissed him directly on the mouth as if to prove her point. "You are by far the most handsome boy I have ever seen."
"I am?" He asked, smiling at her utterly smitten himself. "I am glad to hear this."
"Pietro Maximoff's taste is clearly only fifty percent decent." She patted the side of Bobby's face with her free hand.
Sliding an arm around her waist, Bobby lent in to kiss her softly.
She kissed right back, properly this time, and let her hand rest on his thigh for leaning purposes. He looked so nice tonight--she loved the semi-casual look some people were working, and no one did it better than him. She'd really meant what she said.
"There," she said, just loud enough to be heard over the music once the kiss broke. "Do you feel like the prettiest, now?"
"Perhaps something a touch more masculine that 'prettiest' but, yes, I am happier. How could I not be?" Remaining half wrapped around her and cuddled close, he did settle so that she could continue her people watching. "What is your take on Allerdyce?"
She giggled into her champagne. "He is a funny little man, isn't he? Very strange. Though I do like his bow tie. What do you think?"
"I do not know what to think." Bobby told her honestly, laughing too. Once again his champagne was going down quite easily and just a little too quickly. “He is rather...unusual.”
"Alice is so far out of his league, but she brought him. And they even match." Jeanne-Marie giggled some more. "But I don't think they are dating. I think she is just having some fun with him."
"I have seen her leaving his room, but Johnson does live there too. I have seen her going into Curtis' also. Not that entering a person's bedroom automatically means, well, fucking or whatever. There is much coming and going from the dorms, after all." He shifted a little until his head was resting on her shoulder. "A strange coupling those two would be though, yes."
"Anyone coupling with Anders is far stranger." Jeanne-Marie wrinkled her nose, her eyes flashing briefly with eternal bitterness. "But you are right--I have been in Kurt's room plenty and we are the best of friends, is all.
"Ohhh, poor Benton." Her expression softened instantly when her gaze fell upon the lost-looking boy. She and Wanda had managed him for Halloween, but he'd been all on his own for this! "I should have asked him if he needed help finding something to wear. Little darling."
"You look as though some mother hen instincts are kicking in, querida." The Brazilian observed as he stretched out a little more, very comfortable as he snuggled into her. "And if you and Kurt were more than best friends, I am not sure if it would be I or Blaine who would be more shocked!" He continued with a bark of laughter.
"Mmm, exactly." She smiled and bumped her head against his gently before sipping again. "And Benton is adorable--it is impossible not to feel some warm instinct when he is near. Wanda and I took him shopping for Halloween."
"I do not think we have officially met though I have heard nothing bad of him." And since by this time he had known bad about Damon and Anders, he'd decided either the kid was good or just good at hiding it. Hopefully the former, for Jeanne-Marie's sake. "Can you see the birthday boy? We cannot have lost him already, have we?"
"It is impossible to think anything bad of Benton Fraser," Jeanne-Marie assured him. Hmm, this champagne was going to her head; she was starting to feel a little fizzy, herself. How lovely.
She glanced around for Shinobi, but instead her gaze fell on his younger disciples. "Do you think Felix and Caius are dating?" she asked offhand.
Bobby, who had become distracted in nuzzling and kissing at the nape of her neck, reluctantly pulled back to look around. His expression was starting to look a little glazed and perhaps too relaxed. It wasn't making him slow down with champagne though, which he topped up for them both as he looked around for the younger boys.
"It has never occurred to me though I suppose it is possible. Some of the young ones though, it is just had to imagine. Like Harley or Victor, you know? They seem too sweet and innocent for me to imagine it, or wish to."
"Mmm true." She too was a little distracted by his kissing and nuzzling, and shifted to give him easier access to her neck without really thinking of it. It just felt nice, made her belly all warm and added to the fuzz in her head. Bobby was so sweet to do that--and to refill her glass.
Her gaze fell upon Noriko this time. "I wish I could dress like her. She looks so good in anything. Her choice of date is very interesting too..."
And good looking. Jeanne-Marie didn't know Philip that well, but he was just one of those people who seemed to... blend in and not demand much attention, somehow? In a school full of people with wings and scales, it probably wasn't so hard to do, but now she was looking at him he was very cute...
"You look even more stunning and in anything too. And out of it..." Bobby told her, more interested in her and the kissing than the plain boy she was talking about or even Noriko. Lightly he brazed his teeth over pale skin before biting gently. Well, she had suggested he be her vampire boy for Halloween, hadn't she?
She laughed, goosebumps breaking out down that side of her body. "You will have to wait til we get to the hotel for that."
"Wait for what? I am only kissing." Bobby snickering into the nape of her neck, grinning happily.
"For what you were talking about." She giggled some more. As in, her being out of any, um, clothing...
"Promises, promises!" He teased backed playfully, planting one more kisses before straightening a little.
Jeanne-Marie just raised her eyebrows, smirked suggestively, and then went back to sipping and people-watching. Happy as she'd ever been.
