Alison and Pietro discuss the more mature aspects of their abilities, plus a few other things.

It was early evening, and Alison was out with Pietro at one of the smaller coffee shops. Some freelance musician was playing on their acoustic guitar, and Alison was sitting with her friend on one of the couches, drinking coffee. It was nice to get out of the school every so often and have some relaxing fun like this. The shop was pretty dead, but the music was still amazing, and Alison loved it. The music made her want to glow so badly, but as always, she kept that under control. It was ridiculous, how sad it made her to do that sometimes.

"Ohmigod," she spoke. "I can't even believe this place is so dead. That guy deserves a way bigger audience, don't you thank?"

"Definitely," Pietro agreed a little sadly. He loved a good guitarist any day; that this guy was underappreciated was just sad. He stretched his arm over the back of the couch behind Alison and said even more sympathetically, "Must really make you wanna sparkle, girl."

"Very much so, but I have a handle on it," she told Pietro quietly, and smiled. "I think some sparkles could help brighten his show up some more, though. Think he'd appreciate it?"

She was joking, of course. That'd just cause a massive scare

"Fuck him," Pietro said, though he meant quite the opposite, and his expression and voice would show it. He laughed and threw an arm over the back of the couch behind her (utterly sans intention, because, Ali. That'd be weird). "I'd like it. Some day, all the sparkles. Any time you feel happy."

"Someday," Alison agreed with a faint smile, and let out a tiny laugh. "It'll be the same day when you'll run up to someone in public, and mess up everyone's hair along the way. Maybe ruin some bigots totally tacky hairstyle, too~."

After the forms of retribution Pietro had been considering lately, that one sounded even better than it would've any other day--which was saying a lot, actually, because nooooo on the tacky hair. "See, this is what I love about you. You have your priorities in order." He held up his decaf to knock his mug off hers as dude finished up his song, then clapped with his free hand against his thigh.

"What's the code, here?" he asked. "Do musicians just wander up to other musicians and say, 'hey nice show now we should be friends' or is that tacky?"

Alison laughed after clapping a little herself. "It's a bit tacky. Usually, we just give the other a compliment, and it eventually gets to the whole 'I'm a musician, too' thing. You have to be natural and not act like you want their autograph, even if you totally do. Get what I mean?"

"Right, playing it cool. So like the opposite of how I reacted when I found out you were at the school?" He snickered and bumped into her with his side.

"Pretty much," Alison smirked, and bumped him right back. "But you're just so fabulous and fun that I totally look past your fanboy antics, and even embrace them!"

She definitely embraced them; Pietro's existence was a major stroke to her ego.

"It's a gift," he quipped, leaning into her comfortably, his arm still over the back. "And we're both all about brightening up life like that, amiright?

"Speaking of, last week was all code names and evacuation plans. Got some gossip for me? Liiiiiiike, maybe an Angelo Update?"

"Ugh, well at least that part is getting better," Alison sighed, and gave him a grin. She was tired of all this bad stuff, and she wanted a break. That was why she liked hanging out with Pietro so much--he always offered her some light in the midst of all the darkness. She didn't have to be the lone light in all of this because he was there, too. Not everything was so dim.

"Maybe we might have done some more stuff," Alison said sheepishly, and tucked her hair behind her ear.

"Oooooh." Pietro sat up and turned to face her, tucking one long leg up in front of him, so his shin aligned with her thigh and his knee poked the back of the couch. "Now that sounds promising. You are so cute when your modesty peeks through, by the way."

"Oh, shush you," Alison blushed, and looked up at the ceiling, grin forming on her face. "Is this the part where you ask me for all those gushy details that you so often give me about your fun times?"

"Hey, fair is fair." Pietro grinned. Seriously, she was like fluffy kitten cute when she blushed. "C'mon a few hints. I already know he has kissing skills..." He raised his eyebrows expectantly.

Ever the casual and classy, Alison kept that sheepish smile on her face. "He may have..." she began, and then leaned in closer so she could lower her voice to Pietro. "--went down on me. It was incredible."

"Gah!" Pietro lowered his voice too, though it took some serious effort--and grabbed her hand. "Oh my god, incredible? That is a huge word when it comes to oral. Like, are we talking 'made you scream' incredible?"

Hey, every girl might have their own personal form of in bed expression--at least, as far as Pietro had noted, which was not that far, but whatever, they did. But his meaning would be clear.

Alison blushed, and leaned in a little closer. "Okay, I'm going to tell you something, but you have to SWEAR never ever to repeat it ever because ohmigod."

She bit her lip, and looked at him while she admitted this next thing. "It made me glow."

When Pietro's mouth fell open, it was not an act. Tessa--well, Tessa just got bossier (read: hotter) with the occasional reeeeally gratifying moan. Eames grabbed a pillow and screamed into it, more often than not. Laura--okay, he had not gone down on Laura, but when she came it was all bruisingly hard kisses and scratching and god it was the fucking most amazing thing...

But glowing? "That. Is. Awesome. Oh my god, Alison, if you weren't totally unfuckable--not in a bad way, you know what I mean--I would like beg to see what that looks like. Did you know that could even happen?!"

"No! I mean, sort of?" Alison began sheepishly. "I glow when I'm happy, and I used to have to fight to control it. I'd make sure that there wasn't any music playing, or keep the sounds to a minimum so I wouldn't glow when I was with my ex-boyfriend."

Alison had only had sex with one guy before she'd met Angelo, and she'd always been scared about accidentally glowing during. Considering how her relationship with Paul AKA the big fat jerk had ended, she could only imagine how it would have gone if she'd randomly started glowing. "I guess it makes sense, but seriously? Glowing! It's so cheesy and stupid."

Much as she loved to glow, she could really hate it at the same time.

"It is awesome," Pietro repeated. His enthusiasm was not feigned--if he went down on someone and they started glowing--shit he loved the reactions more than anything else about the activity (which was saying a lot because he loved everything about the activity). That one? Perfect. "And what-ever, we all have, like, weird powers-related sex quirks, come on. That's what makes it fun. Well, more fun."

"Oh, do we now?" Alison grinned at him, feeling fairly curious about that face. "I've shared mine, so you totally need to share yours."

Pietro winced. "Okay, this is going to be serious boy TMI, though. I mean, TMI like whoa. Are you prepared to think of this every time you look at me for the next week?"

Alison rolled her eyes. "I spilled mine, so you have to spill yours. I'm totally ready!"

"Okay, but you were warned." Pietro laughed and ran a hand through his hair. His cheeks actually heated up a little; it was one thing in the moment, but talking about it like this with any girl would be weird. Less with Alison... but still. "So, like. I'm a little bit fast at first. Obviously. But--wait, don't laugh yet, it gets better. I'm ready to go again almost instantly--to the point where you wouldn't even notice I'd already, um, finished, if it wasn't for the mess. I mean, there have been nights when it's become a game. 'How many times can I get Pietro off in a single evening'. For real."

Alison bit her lip, trying so hard not to laugh. She wasn't surprised by that, if only because it was Pietro, and he was constantly energized into doing a million things at once. "Oh, honey," she said, and gave him something of a supportive smile. "I guess that's the one downside of being faster than everyone else, yeah? You're fast at everything."

Pietro laughed out loud, one hand over his face, though he peeked out at her through his fingers. "To be fair I can go for a really long time. Just that it's more, um, over and over for me and forever for whoever I'm with? Luckily, some people enjoy playing the seven orgasms in seven different positions game with me. Though, admittedly, a water and snack break is kinda necessary in those cases."

"Oh. Also. I can vibrate." Pietro held up one hand, two fingers aloft--but didn't blur it because, you know. In public. He just winked for effect instead. "So I'm basically a walking sex toy."

"Jeeze, Pietro. No wonder everyone is so fond of you," Alison teased him, and leaned over to playfully poke him in the nose. Pietro did date around, and upon knowing this information, Alison could see why. Not only was he a lovable guy, but he was apparently a sex toy, too. "You are way too much sometimes. I bet you just sat around one day and tried to figure out how your...talents could work to your advantage when it came to that kind of stuff."

"I definitely considered it at length," Pietro said with an evil grin and a nose-crinkle for her poking. Then a little more seriously, "Eames taught me a lot when it comes to girls, though. Which has definitely come in handy since--even though I haven't gotten anyone to go Aurora Borealis for me." Had to wonder what Laura would do, though. Would it be the same as the stuff they'd already done, or different? Hmm, he'd just file that away for further consideration, because, yeah. Now was so not the time.

Anyhow, he didn't need to ask Ali not to say anything about him and Eames. She knew all the things--and even if she didn't know about the whole Arthur situation, well, she wouldn't say a word anyhow. BFFs like that.

No, Alison would never say a thing Pietro told her about his romantic life/sex life. She was always sworn to secrecy when he confided in her, and she never wanted to betray his trust in any way. Pietro was someone she cared about, and telling anyone this information was so against the best friend rules.

"You are sooo lucky you have Eames, arentcha?" she laughed. Alison still didn't know what Eames and Pietro were even doing, but she didn't think it was her place to ask. In her opinion, it was hardly her business. "See, that's why people should eventually love us. Look at all the fun stuff we can do~?"

"Right?" Pietro agreed happily, considering the benefits of certain other powers. Like Tessa's--holy god-- "And, I mean. Obviously I hope you and Angelo are together forever and you are constantly sparkling with orgasmic glee, but if not--seriously you have got to try out a telepath. Even just making out with one of them while they're like, brain-linked to you... uh, let's just say we're both a little quick. When there is oral involved, it's just ridiculous.

"Seriously, what is not to love about superpowers?" He was careful to keep his voice down, but honestly. She was right. Fun. Stuff.

Alison's eyes widened, and she managed a tiny smile. Well, it seemed Pietro really was trying to explore the sexual aspects of every power he could get his hands on. It wasn't surprising, but hearing it was crazy to know that all these abilities had these different 'side effects' when it came to sex. "Oh, really? And what telepaths have you been fooling around with, hmm?"

"Just the one: Tessa," Pietro assured her with a grin. Tessa wouldn't mind in the least, and again, Ali wouldn't say anything. "Who is more than enough telepath for me. What can I say, I have a thing for bossy bad-ass girls. You're shocked, I'll bet."

Alison's eyes widened. "Wait, what? Tessa?!"

She had to admit, she was shocked to hear that Tessa had done things with Pietro like that. It just seemed...strange somehow. "The you having the thing for bossy girls not surprising, the fact that it's Tessa--surprising. You're just everywhere, as usual I see."

Alison smirked.

Pietro laughed. "What can I say, there is something really hot about knowing that if I made a wrong move, a girl wouldn't hesitate to punch me in the face and tell me to step the fuck off.

"But Tessa knows what she's doing, man. She totally seduces me, I swear."

"I'm sure she's the one doing the seducing," Alison giggled. "Ohmigod, how many people are you having fun with at this point?! I swear it's always a new person every time I talk to you."

"I never counted." Which was weird, now he thought of it. There was an actual, discernible pause (he guessed after St. Pat's he had to count Remy as "current" too, right?) before Pietro admitted, "It's sort of an ever-shifting thing, to be honest. But I think the current number of possibilities is, um, four?

"Seriously, though, I am no master of seduction, which makes this even weirder. I mean, the first time I ever kissed anyone--without them either ordering me to or just doing it themselves--was, like Valentine's Day." Which, now he thought about it, said a good deal. And had changed a good deal, because he'd totally gotten a little more confident/aggressive since...

Huh. Nice.

"Maybe it's just part of you growing up and being around people you can actually be attracted to and like?" Alison offered him. Some of the kids didn't seem to get a long with people before coming here, she'd noticed, so maybe being around people just like you helped a person a lot. Alison did well outside the school along with inside the school, so she hadn't had that problem yet. Then again, she was probably the most social a person could be. "Being here seems to change that for a lot of people, I think."

Pietro was racing over her words a few times, rolling them around and figuring them out as they applied. He'd known that the whole mutant school thing was responsible for him having actual friends, definitely, so it made sense that this was a function of that. But also... people you can actually be attracted to and like.

Because it hadn't been just anyone, when he'd actually made a first move. Well, not that he'd say anyone he'd actually made out with was just anyone, because they happened to be a list of most of the people he was closest to, truth be told, and he did kinda love them all. Hell, even Remy. Who was... ugh, such a romantic after all, damn him and his pretty Cajun face.

But it had been Laura, that time. "Dude. I think you just blew my mind. You are right on like multiple levels."

Alison grinned, happy she was able to help him see that. She liked when her friends were happy, and when it came to his personal life, Pietro did seem fairly satisfied most of the time. "See, and that's why you should always listen to me, Sunshine! I think you're just way happier at the school from the sounds of things. You did say you didn't have many friends before coming here, so it makes sense, mmkay?"

He almost said that he didn't have Laura, either, but he stopped himself. He... still wasn't totally sure about Ali and the Laura thing. She'd been cool, but he'd gotten the feeling it was like, just barely. "It does. And you're right. As usual.

"What about you? I mean, your life really changed. Now we've been here long enough... I mean, is the excellent company making up for the lack of tours and stylists for you?"

Alison frowned. She loved the school, and she loved the friends that she'd made (plus she really cared about Angelo), but things were so different that it was really hard sometimes. She missed her house, she missed her family and she missed a lot of stuff that used to happen in her life on a daily basis. "I love you guys and I love the school, but I miss everything. I want to have both, you know? I've been talking to my manager, and I'm going to start singing again, even if it's just in New York. I miss doing it, and it hurts not to sing."

She forced a smile at her friend. "There's no saying a girl can't have it all, right~? That's just what I need to do."

"We'll get you there," he promised, and not for the first time. Pietro reached out and took her hand to give it a good squeeze. "And in the meantime, you should totally complain to me all the time about it when you want to vent.

"But I am super excited you're going to be performing again. Wild horses couldn't drag me away from that, baby girl."

"Good to hear," Alison squeezed his hand back, then chewed on the inside of her lip. "Um. So. I have something else to tell you that kind of has to do with Angelo, but also with my singing stuff, and..."

She gave a tiny shrug. "I kind of, sort of saw my dad recently when I was out with Angelo the other day. It went pretty badly."

Pietro set his jaw, mainly to keep himself from saying something truly shitty. He hated Alison's family with the fiery passion of a thousand burning suns for how they treated her--they were exactly the kind of assholes who were going to make life hard for all of them, forever, and--ugh.

And yet, they were her family, and he knew she loved them in spite of herself. So he tried really, really hard when they came up not to swear to much. Still, his voice had gone from almost-chirpy to dead cold just like that when he asked, "What did he do?"

Something over-the-top and dramatic like the fucking cockswinging bigot he was--

See. Pietro kept that part quiet. Good job, Pietro!

Alison leaned back in her seat, and began playing with her hair. She began loosely braiding it before she began to talk, trying to figure out how to word this exactly. Pietro wouldn't have been too different from Angelo if he'd been the one to see Carter, Alison knew, but it was still hard to admit. It'd been so embarrassing, and Alison was still pretty upset that Angelo had been forced to meet him. She didn't want to force her parents onto anyone, especially people she cared for. "He was totally rude to Angelo. Which, like, didn't surprise me since he hates everyone I like no matter who they are."

She sighed. "He told me all I cared about was running around with my boyfriend, and not about my family. Hello! I'm the one who was kicked out, but I'm somehow still the one who broke my mom's heart and upset my sister. Ugh, it was so totally lame."

"Wow. That is possibly the most hypocritical line of bullshit yet." Pietro took a little comfort in knowing that Angelo had probably knocked the fucker down a peg or two, but still, damn. "I swear, Ali, your dad is from Bizarro world. Everything is totally opposite for him."

Who had broken whose heart? Oh, that's right. They'd broken Alison's. Pricks. One of Pietro's hands curled up in a fist and his shoulders straightened, just as a reflex, he was so fucking irritated.

"Yeah, he's real charming," Alison sighed. She hated how much she still loved her parents, but these things took time, right? It'd be awhile before she would actually have dealt with the way that things had gone with her parents, and her sister. Right now, it was easiest to be sad at them and mad at Lois, than it was for her to be angry at all three of them. It would come, though, and she knew she'd be okay. It wasn't like she had no one to turn to, after all, and she still had family who didn't hate her guts. "He said I don't have any respect for myself, either. It was just a really awful meeting and I hope it never happens again. He can say so much in just a few minutes."

"What a sad little dude," Pietro mused darkly, hand clenching and unclenching. He was a complete shit-head of a son, and he couldn't even imagine Django or Marya ever talking to him like that. Even Erik, who'd known him for all of, like three years wouldn't come close. "Not only does he have to talk shit to teenagers to feel awesome, but to his own kid. I'm glad Angelo was with you though--I mean, I know it sucks, but it's better than dealing with it alone."

"To be honest...I wish he hadn't been with me. I didn't like my dad talking to him like he was a piece of trash on the street," Alison admitted. If she would have been alone, she could have just dealt with it herself, and no one else would have been pulled into it. It would have been better if she'd been alone than to subject her boyfriend to that kind of rudeness. Angelo didn't deserve that. They were Alison's family, and Alison alone had to deal with that.

"I mean, it was nice having him there after it all, but I felt bad. I don't think it even bothered Angelo all that much, but it bothered me."

"Yeah, I know. But that's what he's there for--and it's probably good for him to really understand the kind of bullshit you're dealing with first hand, even if it sucks." Pietro patted her hand, but totally got all heart-achey for her. "Well, he's there for that and the face-sitting. But yeah."

Alison just sighed. "Do you want to get out of here?"

"I will go wherever you want," Pietro promised, setting aside his cup and standing, then reaching down for her hand.

Alison took his hand, and smiled as she got to her feet. "Let's just go for a walk, okay? I don't care where to."

"Love it." He tucked her hand beneath his elbow, linking their arms. "Let's go be fabulous somewhere else. And if you want to talk, we can. And if you don't, we'll just, I dunno. Hold hands and skip." It was a joke, and he smiled accordingly, but the look he gave her had a bit of an understanding, sad edge to it about the eyes.

Alison smiled, keeping their arms linked as they left the shop. As they walked out, she kept her head on his shoulder, opting for silence momentarily, but she'd eventually choose to talk a little more about her father. Like she was grateful for Angelo, she was very grateful for Pietro, too.

Tessa sez: She's pretty sure she and Pietro need to discuss some Dorian Grey related things. And then possibly have another bossy encounter.

Shinobi sez: SOMEBODY needs to relay this story to him. So he can use what influence he has to make Carter Blair MISERABLE. Not destitute-miserable, but, you know. Severely inconvenienced. He has it coming!
