Midnighter briefly loses control because he's too busy thinking about 'the Astrovik thing'. Fortunately, he loses control with Brian, and ends up informing him of what's happened.

After having heard about the true reason why Vance didn't come back from Thanksgiving break, Anders snaps and does something very stupid. He tries to break out his surrogate brother. And he woulda gotten away with it too if it wasn't for the pesky conscience of Vance'.

And it's possibly the most human Anders has  ever seemed.
