Sharon goes to Tony for people advice.
Sharon was still perplexed after talking to Steve about straightening out her legal records. There were discrepancies in regards to her date of birth, so they'd picked one day to clear it up. Since the month was already listed in October, it only seemed right to set the date as the day that Steve found her. She'd never celebrated a birthday before in her life. She didn't completely understand what the big deal was about that, but having Steve in her life was a big deal.
Sharon decided she'd take her confusion to the other person that had practically (but not legally) adopted her. She found Tony on his couch and went to sit down on his lap, unsettling his tablet.
"Hi," she said, quick greeting before she snuggled against him. "Advice?"
"Sure," Tony said, absently amused and letting his personal space be taken over. There was really no point in arguing when she was already there. He just set the tablet to the side and looped an arm loosely around her. "Whatcha need?"
"Confused about birthdays," she said. "Why are they so big deal? Know why Steve adopting me is big deal, but why do people normally do so much for birthdays?"
Tony opened his mouth and then closed it again. Honestly, he'd never really thought about it. Huh. "It's...a day to celebrate you. Specifically," he said finally. "You get why people would like that kind of thing, right?"
She blinked and then thought that over. With a soft snort she finally said, "Isn't that every day?"
"Not for most people," he agreed with a snicker. "But it's a day where people are supposed to take the time to appreciate the fact that you exist. Some people like to make a big deal out of it, some people don't."
Well, it made even more sense why Sharon had never had a birthday before she was a cat then. She nuzzled Tony's hair softly. "You appreciate me. You and Steve."
"We do," Tony said easily, setting his hand against the small of her back, "and everybody else should, too."
She rubbed her cheek against him, giving a low rumble. "Thank you," she said quietly. Then, after a pause, "Like having a home."
"Yeah?" He smiled a little. "It is a pretty awesome place, if I do say so myself."
She smiled. "Would be more awesome with more crawl spaces and secret passageways," she suggested.
Tony just laughed. "That what you want for a present?"
She perked up. "Would you?
"I could probably manage something, yeah. If you wanted."
She swished her tail happily. "Yes."
"Okay then," Tony said with a hum. "It'll have to be up here, though. Workroom's too dangerous."
"Long as JARVIS still let's me in when it's safe," she said with a sigh. "But yay."
"Always," he said with a huffed laugh and kissed the top of her head.
Sharon purred happily, snuggling him.
Tony smiled a little. "Anything else you want to know?"
"Not today. Will let you know," she promised.
