Sirius and Karolina, back dated to January 10th

Sirius and Karolina go on a date and let their fabulousness all hang out.

Pulling on her hat, Karolina excitedly going down the steps two at a time until she reached the bottom. Turning down the hallway, she hurried along the hallway, heels clicking on the marble floor, and went through the door to the garage.

It was warm inside, the room heated perfectly, but Karolina started to button up her jacket all the same. She was warm now, but that wouldn’t last. “Sirius!” she called, weaving through the parked cars.

"There's my gorgeous girl!" Sirius exclaimed, more for effect than anything else as he hurried over and hugged her tightly. She'd gotten him through more than a few painful nights when he'd still be stuck in the Black family. "It's been way, way too long babe." It had only been a couple of months in fact but he'd always had that dramatic flare.

Karolina hugged Sirius tight back, just as happy to see him, and gave him a friendly kiss on the cheek, “My thoughts exactly! I’ve missed you!” She caught his hand, giving it a warm squeeze. “How have you been?” In general she didn’t pay much mind to celebrity news and gossip rags, but she had seen things about him here and there and knew he’d been about to his usual mischief making. She also knew, however, that that was not always a good indicator of how Sirius actually was.

"Aside from seeing little brother?" He indicated to the healing split lip. Only a small cut and the swelling was already down coz Reg couldn't pack much of a punch yet. "Had a lovely Christmas full of Potters and eggnog. Oh and I turn into a dog now." He knew he knew but he still felt like he had to tell her. "How about you?"

Karolina looked sympathetic at the split lip, touching Sirius just under his chin. “I had a lovely Christmas too,” she told him with a smile, her hand falling away. “I visited my family and we had our traditional Christmas Eve on the beach. My mom and dad send their love.” The smile turned playful. “Oh, and I can light up like a rainbow and fly now.”

"My kind of girl." He winked before grabbing her by the hand and leading her over. "Come meet Baby, you've heard all about each other after all."

“I can’t wait!” Karolina exclaimed and hurried along with Sirius, hand in his, her smile excited. “There’s no way that the pictures you texted do her any justice.”

"No 'her' just Baby." He corrected, he didn't get why guys always called their vehicles by female pronouns. "My bike refuses to adhere to the gender binary, see."

That made Karolina laugh. “Even better!” she replied as they slipped between the bumpers of a cherry red convertible and another equally vintage looking car. “Who says they can only be girls anyway?”

"Exactly, now how about I get a good snap of you on baby to tweet to our fans before we head out?" Because twitter buzz was always fun to stir up and it'd help with their pap chaos plan too. Divide and conquer, if half of them went to dummy reservations then less of them would go to the right one and bother them.

They'd made their way through the cars to were the bikes were kept. Since he'd sent Karolina a million and one pictures since the day he'd bought his pride and joy, there was no asking which was his.

Karolina, who had smiled at the sight of the much talked about bike, laughed at the question, “Do you even need to ask?” She swung her leg over, settling in the seat, her hands on the handlebars. “Oh, wait!” She tugged off her hat and shook her hair out. “There. Perfect.”

Sirius pulled out his iPhone immediately. "Gorgeous. And how about one in a helmet too, so you can't be accused of promoting unsafe driving.

Karolina picked up the helmet, which, of course, matched the bike in that perfect, Sirius way, and put it on, clipping it under her chin for good measure. “Do I look dangerous in the safest way possible?” she joked, playfully posing for his phone.

"You look helluva sexy. If you were straight and not so sister-like to me, I'd be getting so hot for you right now." Not that incest was particularly frowned upon by the Black family, anything for apparently pure blood. Ugh.

Of course playfully kissing his lesbian sister-like friend was ok, Sirius kissed a lot of his friends. In fact most of them and fairly frequently.

"Ok, one last one." For this one he climbed on in front of her, putting his helmet on too.

"Pretend I'm the hottest bird you've ever seen, babe."

“Ooh, there’s a challenge,” Karolina teased playfully. She put her arms around Sirius’ middle, lacing her fingers against his stomach, and looked at him, face tilted just right so the camera would catch her big smile. “Cheese!” she called out with a giggle.

"That's gonna look good on the cover of 'US Weekly'." Sirius snickered back as he snapped his visor down. "Get ready, my darlin'."

Karolina’s hands shifted for a better hold on Sirius’ and she smiled big, excited, “Ready!” She’d been looking forward to this ever since Sirius had texted her a picture of his motorcycle the first day he got it.

"Hold on tight." He told her before they set off. There may have been a touch more revving than strictly necessary but he was showing off his baby, he couldn't help it.

Karolina let out a delighted squeal as the motorcycle peeled out of the garage. It sped down the driveway and out the front gate with her clinging to Sirius and laughing happily. It almost felt like flying, racing so fast like this with the wind whipping through her hair.

And they hurtled off, Sirius grinning as they went. He still loved to ride this baby.

The bike slowed to a stop outside of their destination and Karolina, laughing happily, climbed off. “That was awesome!” she announced as she took off her helmet. Shaking her hair back into place, she set her helmet down on her seat. “Your texts didn’t do Baby any justice, Sirius. It drives like a dream.”

Karolina looked up at the restaurant front and smiled. “I’m glad we’re going here,” she said, indicating the sushi place. “I’ve been wanting to try it for awhile.”

"I've heard good things." Sirius agreed, there were a few cameras at a distance for now but since they'd booked three places at once, paps were probably very confused right now. Still, he playfully offered her the hand that wasn't carrying his helmet. "Besides, dog or not I still love me some sushi."

Karolina took Sirius’ hand with a laugh, joking, “Given that all the dogs I’ve ever known would eat just about anything, I’m not sure if that’s a compliment or not.” She followed him into the restaurant, smiling and thanking him when he held the door open for her.

"Well, I'm a little pickier than that. As you know." They made themselves known to the Maitre D and were immediately seated, walking passed a fairly long queue of diners waiting to be seated. A few stared and whispered.

Karolina thanked the Maitre D as he pulled her chair out and politely declined his offer to take her jacket. Taking it off, she hung it across the back of her chair instead and then sat down, smiling across the table at Sirius. “So, should we ask for recommendations, or just close our eyes and point to things on the menu?” It was a game they played often when they went to new restaurants together. It was fun to do and always got the paparazzi buzzing that they were obviously a couple.

"Hmm, how about you pick for me and I pick for you?" Sirius suggested, eyes glittering a little. That could get fun plus, yeah, ridiculous cutesy couple shit. Not that Sirius had ever actually been in a real couple. Just showmances and casual fling type things.

Sirius’ obvious amusement made Karolina smile more. She was glad he was here. She had missed him and it was so good to see him again. “Ooh, good idea!” she replied, her warm enthusiasm getting her a look from a group at nearby table that had already been doing a poor job of not staring. “You go first.”

"Hmmmm," To play up to the open staring, not to mention the cameras, he may have started playing footsie with her under the table as he browsed. Generally 'showmances' were annoying and dull and he often refused to do them but things like playing beard for Kara were an exception. They always had stupid amounts of fun. "Tempura's always a good start. Veggies or prawns though? I think, yeah I'm thinking veggies for you."

Karolina played footsie right back. “You know me so well,” she play flirted, leaning in, her folded arms on the table. “Whatever would I do without you?” Their friendly neighborhood starers were whispering now and they were doing it loudly. She wondered how long it would be before the paparazzi showed up.

Looking down at the menu again, Kar asked, “What was it you picked out the last time we got sushi? I can’t remember what it was called, but it was so good.”

A small frown forming, Sirius tried to stain his memory back. As much as they adored each other, he and Kara didn't manage to dinner too often (something that was absolutely going to change now that they lived together) so it took a while to remember as he started scanning the menu in the hopes it might have the same dish.

"I can't see it, but we have to get some of the 'rainbow rolls' because hello!" He shot her a pointed look and a smirk before laughing.

“Definitely!” Karolina replied, laughing. She didn’t even need to look at the ingredients to agree with that. “There’s no way we can pass that one up.”

Tucking hair behind her ear, Karolina looked back at her menu, chewing thoughtfully on her bottom lip. “What else do you want to get?” she asked and then pointed at the menu. “This vegiout roll sounds good.”

"I can go with that, and I think I've been doing most the picking so why don't you go ahead and finish it up?" He suggested, deliberately turning his head to grin at an iphone "discreetly" being positioned to take their photo.

“Okay!” Karolina made a thoughtful noise at the menu. So much of it looked delicious that it was hard to decide! “Do you want something with fish?” She didn’t eat it, but she knew how much Sirius liked it.

"Why do I always end up picking food for us?" Sirius laughed though gave in and agreed on selecting the fish. They had way more interesting things to talk about than the menu.

“Because I want to make sure you get something you like!” Karolina replied and playfully stick her tongue out at Sirius.

Karolina closed her menu and was about to speak when their waiter came over to take their drink orders. Flipping her menu over, she read the drinks options and debated iced green tea a moment before answering, “I’ll have a water, please. No lemon.” She smiled warmly at the waiter. “Thank you.”

"And I'll have a sprite." Being good since he was driving, besides with photos being taken conning the waiter for alcohol would be a little foolish.

They gave their food order and, once alone again, Sirius turned back to his friend with a smile.

"So, catch up time, darling. How is life?"

“Eventful,” Karolina answered with a little laugh and a playfully self-deprecating roll of her eyes. “Mom’s filming in Ireland for a Grace O’Malley biopic, dad’s talking about going into directing TV, and I’m here.” She didn’t know how much she could say about it, especially with so many people listening, so she just smiled. “Big things going on all around. Good big things though. What about you?”

"New school, new country, the show and all my other invites and engagements. Been modelling quite a bit and generally 'throwing the Black name into further disrepute'. Apparently." Sirius laughed with a shrug and his own eye-roll. "All in a day's work. No rest for the wicked."

“And with how wicked you are, you must be busy at all hours,” Karolina joked, grinning.

Karolina smiled at their waiter as he returned with their drinks. She accepted hers with a smiling thank you and then took a sip. “Do you like it here so far?” Though she mostly meant the school, she did want to hear about all of it--The city, the country, anything and everything.

"It's...it's not Harrow, it's not home. Not by any means but I think it's the right place for me. And the people, well who could complain about getting to live with you, Lina? Not to mention some of our classmates, have you seen them? Seriously." Sirius got to live in an A list world but a school full of near supermodels? It was a wet dream even for him. "It puts my slut mode in overdrive, you've no idea how restrained I've been."

The people at the next table over weren’t even trying to hide their gawking about them now. They were taking pictures with their phones and talking in loud whispers about her and Sirius’ conversation.

“I’ve seen a few,” Karolina confirmed, amusement warm in her voice. “But, do tell. It sounds like you’ve had some really enjoyable views. I want to know who I should keep an eye out for. I wouldn’t want to miss out.”

Sirius dropped his voice to keep names discreet, he might no be thanked for names being out in the public arena.

"Well, it's a little early to name names really, apart from the lovely Miss Daneils who I rang the New Year in with. Otherwise, well I may have a wishlist. Seriously, thought I've been so damn restrained, I think I deserve an award for not spreading my legs for every other person in the place!" He laughed at himself, he knew others would be shocked that he considered the last term practical virginal by his standards. "What about you? Anyone take your fancy, darling?"

Karolina put her hand on Sirius’ and grinned playfully at him, “Apart from you, you mean? I have to admit there is a lot of pretty at the school.” She laughed a little. “The school looks like it got its students off a runway. But, no, no one has taken my fancy.”

"Well keep me posted," he was less hushed again now "I do like to know that my girl's happy." He turned his hand that was under hers palm up, still aware of photos being taken.

“I will.” Karolina gave Sirius’ hand a warm squeeze and leaned in, smiling, “And you keep me posted too. I like to know that my boy is happy.”

Karolina took a sip of her drink. “And what about friends?” She knew he had, of course, made them. Sirius had what could only be described as a magnetic personality and was the kind of person who made hundreds of friends wherever he went. “Any of them closer than others?”

"Not yet but there's potential, particularly among our lupine classmate." He admitted though didn't expand further as he'd spotted their food on it's way over and his stomach had let out a well-timed growl.

“This looks amazing,” Karolina said to the waiter as their meal was set down in front of them, smiling warmly him. “Thank you.” Reaching for her napkin, she unrolled it and laid it across her lap, then picked up the chopsticks that been tucked inside, breaking them apart.

Karolina picked up a piece of tempura and dipped it in the hot Chinese mustard sauce, watching their waiter out of the corner of her eye. “There are others?” she asked once they were alone again.

Sirius confirmed with a nod, eating hungrily as he did so, "Remus but still. Turns of wolves gives good snuggles. It's nice, wolves can get along with dogs or they can eat them...and well, sometimes I'm not adverse to being eaten so..." He snickered dirtily at his own joke.

“Sirius!” Karolina said with a laugh and playfully rapped him on his hand.

Karolina ate another piece of sushi and then smiled at Sirius, “That’s great though.” She didn’t know why she was so surprised. There were lots of people at the school who had similar mutations. She hadn’t even been at the school a day before Jeanne-Marie, a girl who could fly and light up too, had introduced herself. “I’d love to meet him some time. Do you two hang out a lot?”

"We're starting to, yeah. And darling, for the record, if you wanting my to behave you should have known it as going to be a lost cause." He smiled at her with his usually 'but can you be mad at me?' air.

“My mistake,” Karolina replied, laughter warm in her voice. “I’ll never underestimate you again.”

"I think it was more over than underestimating me!" Sirius chuckled happily

“Nope, underestimating,” Karolina said, her smile big. “I should have known just how filthy you can be.”

"You have known me for quite some time." He agreed, "You poor thing."

Karolina smile was playfully flirtatious now, “You say poor, I say lucky.” She picked up another piece of sushi, trying a different one this time, and dipped it in some sauce. “I couldn’t imagine not knowing you.”

Dipping into the same sauce, Sirius grinned and cooed, "Aww, love you too." And yes he let his voice rise to allow their fans to here it, why not?

“I know,” Karolina said lightly, teasing, her smile warm and bright.

Flashes of camera came from their left. The paparazzi had found them it seemed, and just in time for the show. This would be all over the tabloids in no time and she hoped it would have Sirius’ family pulling their hair out.

Checking his watch, Sirius chuckled "They're losing their touch, I think." before asking "What sort of show do you want to give them, Sweets?"

Karolina put her chin in her hand, tapping her chin thoughtfully. “Hmm,” she teased. “It’s such a tough decision. How about sickeningly sweet this time? You know how much they love that one.”

"And yet it comes so unnaturally to me." Sirius sighed dramatically but playfully.

“Well, you had me fooled,” Karolina shot back just as playfully. “But if you’re not feeling that one, then you can pick something else.”

"No, no, no. You've lain down the challenge, can't turn back now." Sirius insisted, grinning as he started to move to feed her sushi. It'd make an interesting photo if nothing else.

Karolina giggled and leaned in to eat the piece of sushi off of Sirius’ chopsticks. She covered her mouth, smiling as she chewed and swallowed. “Thank you,” she said and then picked up some sushi off her plate, offering it to him. “Your turn.”

And, of course, Sirius had to make it as obscene as humanly possibly which, even for him, was saying something.

"Mmm. Delicious." He announced after having swallowed.

Karolina laughed, “If you’re eating it like that it must be.” She picked up a piece of the same type of sushi to try herself. Dipping it, she took a bite and then hummed appreciatively.

"I can't help being a showman, I just love my audience." Sirius told her innocently with a devilish grin.

“I had no idea,” Karolina joked, smiling. “That catches me completely by surprise.”

"Would you want me any other way?"

Karolina smiled, “Never.” She playfully shook a finger at him. “And you know it, Mr. Fishing for Compliments.” She ignored the flashing lights of cameras taking picture after picture and picked up another piece of sushi.

Sirius smiled and then looked around. Outside the glass windows a media circus was building up and they were still being watched. The joke was losing some of it's appeal though. "How about we ask for a private room for dessert, let us talk about some real things?" He suggested.

“Great idea,” Karolina agreed, relieved. All the attention had been starting to become a little too much, especially when it was making it so hard to even just talk to one another. She hated too that they were probably ruining the afternoon for the people who had come here to just enjoy lunch. “A little privacy would be nice. We still have so much to catch up on.”

Which was all Sirius needed to beckon their waiter back over. Teasing the paps was fun and all but the game was so very done.

Karolina smiled apologetically at the waiter when he arrived at their table, “I’m sorry, but would it possibly for us to move to a private room? If it’s not any trouble, of course.” She glanced toward the paparazzi and her expression was regretful when it returned to the young man. “I think we’ve already caused enough for you today.”

Sirius letting Karolina do all the talking but he did all the tipping as they were moved swiftly into a secluded VIP area of the restaurant.

"You seriously know how to wrap people round your little finger, Kara." And he was certainly including himself in that.

Karolina looked mortified. “Oh, God, did it look like I was trying to do that?” she asked, genuinely upset over the possibility of even having accidentally done something manipulative. “I swear that wasn’t my intention. I meant everything I said.” She looked over her shoulder and then back at Sirius. “Should I apologize to him?”

"Oh no, no, no, fuck you're adorable. I just meant you're so cute that people fall over backwards to get shit done. It's sweet." He insisted, grinning even more because, fuck, she was adorable.

“Oh,” Karolina said, looking unsure at first, because she wasn’t sure how she felt about people doing things just because she was cute, and then, finally, relieved, because at the very least it meant she hadn’t been using someone. “Oh, okay.” She smiled at Sirius for the reassurance and for the compliment. “Thanks.”

"Adorable." Sirius repeated before adding "This is much better though, no more goldfish bowl."

Karolina looked glad to be rid of all the attention. “It can get to be more than a little much,” she agreed. “I don’t remember signing off on completely giving up my privacy.” The paparazzi didn’t know, didn’t care really, when to stop.

"It'll only get worse, you know." Sirius told her evenly "If you decide to go through with coming out. Yeah, Lydia talked to me too."

Karolina smiled at Sirius’ concern. “I know,” she answered and then assured, “and I’ll be fine. I’ve spent my entire life in the media’s spotlight. It’s nothing I can’t handle, I promise.” Disliking the paparazzi’s disregard of personal privacy and not being used to it were two very different things. You could hate something, but still have no trouble dealing with it.

“When we talked, Lydia mentioned us coming out at the same time. I thought that might be a good idea.” Karolina smiled, “I think it would show people that mutants are leaning on one another for support. Maybe even give the other mutants out there a sense of community?”

"It's a good idea." If only because it meant they could support each other through it. Not only that but the press, and shippers, would eat that shit up. Might make the coming out even easier. "Sirilina strikes again, right?" They never really mocked the name, their fans had made it out of love for them, still it did seem more than a little silly.

Karolina smiled a little at the name. “It certainly won’t hurt our media coverage,” she agree. “Any good PR we can get will be good for mutants overall. It could help get the public on our side more, get the word out better to the mutant kids out there who think they’re alone...”

"Pissing off my parents in the run up to local elections." A more self thought than any of Kara's but Sirius did have good intentions too and she knew it so why pretend this wasn't a great way to piss off his parents?

“Well,” Karolina said and she smiled, “I guess we should talk details then.
